Project : Fierce Beer
Alan Ruddock Engineering Ltd were excited to be contracted by Fierce Beer to manufacture and install a milling system into their existing brewery in Aberdeen. They were keen to mill their own malt but space inside the brewery was limited so installing a mill inside was not an option. Alternative options had to be looked at and the idea of installing a mill with handling equipment, elevators and conveyors into a container was devised.
A 20 ft one trip container was purchased and delivered to Alan Ruddock Engineering where manufacture could then commence. A 1 tonne 2 roll mill was manufactured and installed in the container along with a conveyor from the silos to an elevator to feed the mill. A control panel was built by a local panel manufacturer and installed in the container to provide an automated system.
All the equipment was manufactured packaged and delivered to site inside the container. Two 32 tonne silos were put in place feeding a conveyor with speciality grains hopper included to feed into the elevator and the mill inside the container. Once milled the grist is then transported via a second conveyor into the brewery, a second elevator will then transfer the grist into an existing grist case.
The installation was a great success, and we look forward to carrying out similar installations in the future.
