CLIENT PROJECTS

Project : Rebellion Beer Co

The Rebellion Beer Co. contracted Alan Ruddock Engineering to design, manufacture and install a malt handling and milling system at their brewery in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

This system was designed to allow the brewery to purchase malt in 25 kg or 50 kg sacks and manually enter it into the system via the tipping hopper situated on the intake conveyor. This conveyor also has a second hopper so that adjuncts may be added at this stage. Malt is elevated to the mill with an AR elevator.  The mill installed is the AR 2000/300/2. This is a precision two roll mill with a milling capacity of one tonne per hour. The mill is discharged with an AR screw conveyor, which feeds an AR elevator. This elevator has been specifically designed for gentle grist handling so that maximum extract from the malt can be achieved. This feeds a purpose built grist case, manufactured by us in galvanised steel plate. We used this in conjunction with a load cell kit and digital weight indicator so that highly accurate quantities of malt are known. This installation is a great example of our semi-automated malt intake system.
